The Rank-Size Rule does not apply for the country of Iceland. The rank-size rule states that each city beneath the most populous should have a population which can be found by (1/rank)(pop. of most populous city). This rule does not apply in the case of Iceland because of the relatively low urban population outside of Reykjavik. Iceland is a largely village-based country and therefore, does not have as large of an urban population as many other developed nations.
